About Broadstairs
Buckmaster House is located in Broadstairs, Kent, and is situated along the town's Western Esplanade. It is only a short walk from the town centre, shops and beaches.

Regarded by many as the loveliest seaside town in the south east of England, Broadstairs has a timeless charm that has captivated generations of visitors, many of whom decide to move or retire here.

A gentle stroll along the promenade, a free afternoon concert in the Bandstand, or afternoon tea in one of our many cafes are just a few of the pleasures people enjoy.

Charles Dickens described it as "Our English Watering Place," and spent many summers here, writing and relaxing with friends such as Wilkie Collins and Hans Christian Andersen.
Originally a small fishing hamlet, the town's ancient maritime past is nowhere more clearly seen than in the huddle of cottages, old Customs House and 16th century weatherboarded boathouse which cluster around the harbour.
We have a good selection of local shops from which to choose, nestling alongside the familiar High Street names, and a number of out-of-town hypermarkets some two miles away.

Further afield, the City of Canterbury is about 15 miles from Broadstairs. Much closer to home lies the charming medieval town of Sandwich, as well as our next door neighbours - Margate and Ramsgate.

For those who enjoy the occasional meal out, Broadstairs is particularly well endowed with restaurants, offering a wide range of cuisine from around the world.
